Euphony v8.1.0
New in the web player since v8.0.0: searching the queue, synced lyrics that follow the song more closely, more in its settings, and a round of improvements and fixes.
Web player
Search the queue
You can now search the queue in the web player, however long it is.
- Press the search icon beside Up next or Previously played, at the top of the queue, and type a song, an artist, or the name of whoever queued it.
- It searches the whole list, all the way to the end, not only the part you have scrolled to. Each tab is searched on its own: Up next, or Previously played.
- Every match shows where it is in the queue, and works like any other row: play it now, jump to it, play it next, add it to a playlist, or remove it.
- Up to the first 100 matches are shown, with a count of how many there are. Keep typing to narrow them down.
- Clear the search to get the queue back.
Searching the queue is free for everyone.
New in settings
- Reconnect: under Bot in the player's settings, Reconnect rejoins Euphony to your voice channel on a fresh connection and picks the song back up where it was. Try it when there is no sound. It's the same Reconnect that the player in Discord has in its options menu.
- Audio Server: the same place now shows which audio server Euphony is connected to in your server, Standard or Premium, as the settings message in Discord does.
Synced lyrics that follow the song
Synced lyrics now show more of how a song is actually sung. All of this is in the web player's lyrics, on songs with word-by-word timing.
- More songs with word-by-word lyrics. More songs now highlight each word as it's sung, instead of a line at a time.
- Verses, choruses and bridges are labelled. Each part of the song is named above its first line and set apart from the part before it, with the chorus picked out in gold.
- The highlight follows the melody inside a word. A word sung across several notes now fills at the pace it's sung: quickly through the short syllables, slowly along the one that's held.
- Lines sung together sit in the middle. In a duet, each singer keeps their own side, and the lines they sing together are centred between them.
- Fast and slow lines look it. A rapped line draws its letters tight; a drawn-out line opens them up.
- Pauses are shown. When a singer leaves a beat in the middle of a line, two dots mark it and fill while it lasts.
- A held last word rings out. When a line ends on a long note, that word stays lit a moment after the line has finished, fading more slowly than the rest.
- A countdown to the first line. During a song's intro, three dots count down to the first words, the same way they do through an instrumental break.
Lyrics and the immersive cover
- The immersive cover stays on with lyrics. With the immersive cover on in big picture, opening the lyrics used to swap the cover for a blur. Now the cover stays, beside the lyrics, and you can switch it on or off without closing them. On screens wide enough to show both.
Fixes
- Going back keeps your place. Opening an album or an artist from search, from another artist, or from anywhere else, and then going back, used to return you to the top of the page. Now you're back where you were, with what you had typed and loaded still there.
- Closing the queue on a phone goes back to where you opened it. Pulling the queue down after opening it from the full player used to drop you on the home tab. It now returns you to the player.
- Radio station artwork loads reliably. Station pictures sometimes failed to load in the player and on the site.
Light sync
- Philips Hue lights fade to each song's colors instead of snapping to them one light at a time.
Help
- The audio troubleshooting guide now explains how to change a voice channel's region, on desktop and on mobile, for when Euphony goes silent or stutters.
